The Carlsen “Cabin” was a new construction on the shores of Big Lake in Skagit County. The existing cabin was 40 years old, outdated and had one bedroom that was not enough for all of the kids and grandkids. The idea was to give the house a California bungalow look from the road while the lake side would be a daylight basement with dormers. The main goal of the new house was to create more sleeping space. The house has five bedrooms, 3.5 baths, a large great room and kitchen.
